Well-Being Shouldn’t be hard: What if the only problem is the one you create by fighting with yourself? 

What if well-being isn’t meant to be this hard? What if the problem is the one you create by fighting with yourself? 

On my walk this morning, I was cursing the pain in my lower back. Why is this still here? When is it gonna go away? What do I gotta do better… and then I caught myself. I placed my hands on my lower back, breathed gently and said “I see you.” 

In the past I would have added a - what do you need and searched through my mind's catalogue of tools, exercises, therapies, for a ‘solution’. But this time I didn’t. 

I accepted there was a message my back was sending me and like any caring parent, my only job was to show up, listen, and offer my love.

I’m already feeling it, the pressure to JUMP in with both feet. January is coming, we must GO NOW. There’s a motor coming from my throat. A feeling of ‘we have to get going or we will be left behind.’ It doesn’t trust there will be time. It doesn’t see that things take time. It doesn’t know how to go slow.
