Struggling with Low Energy? Here’s the 3 Things You Need to Get It Back

If you find yourself tired when you wake up, hitting that 3 pm slump, or not wanting to do your normal activities because you just don't have the energy, and you’re tired of feeling tired, this is for you….

Let’s decomplicate how you can get your energy back on track in three simple steps.

#1 Balancing Blood Sugar

Often our energy is wack because our blood sugar is wack. Starting your day with a nutritious breakfast is key… just like it was for this client.

After just two weeks of balancing her blood sugar, I get this email: “Oh goodness, that 2 pm exhaustion is gone with eating a good breakfast first thing. Feels amazing. It has also curbed my coffee craving so I’m also drinking a lot less of that.”

Starting your day with 20-30g of protein, healthy fats, and fibre is key to sustainable all-day energy, and ensuring you don’t get that dip at 2 pm. If you’re unsure how to do this, you can download my free afternoon crash cure for 7 recipe ideas.

Ideally, we continue to eat this way throughout the day to keep our blood sugar stable at every meal while giving our bodies the nourishment it needs. Which leads me into number two…

#2 Nutrient Deficiencies

You won’t have energy if you have no fuel in the tank. It’s like putting only a little bit of gas in on your way to work and expecting that tank to take you across the country… it ain’t gonna happen. Your body needs nutrients to work. If you’re missing one or more essential nutrients, your energy will suffer.

This is especially true for protein, B vitamins, iron, magnesium and many more.

Step One: Ensuring you eat enough food - protein, healthy fats, carbs, vitamins, minerals

Step Two: Identifying any nutrients that you may be deficient in (this is what we can identify in a health assessment) and ensuring you replace those through eating more foods rich in those nutrients and/or supplementing where necessary.

I also must mention that if you’re stuck in fight or flight, have poor digestion or gut health, these will prevent you from getting the nutrition to your cells that you need. This is why we need to look at the whole picture of our health, not just one piece

#3 Adrenal and Thyroid Function

Is it high cortisol? Is it low thyroid? These are probably two of the most common topics on the internet these days, especially when it comes to women's health, weight, and energy. They are especially important in the conversation of energy and must be talked about together because they work together. If either of these organs is unsupported, your energy will suffer. It will feel like an uphill battle until you get them into balance.

How do we do that? Well, we first test to make sure that is what is going on.

We find out why? Is it nutrient deficiencies? Chronic stress? Emotional factors? Burnout? Pathogens? Gut imbalance?

Once we identify why, then we can find what you need to support these organs (what you need may be different from someone else)

We get these systems back into balance, and along comes stable, all-day energy!

What do you need?

If you’re looking to get your energy back on track, it’s important you start slow…

Pause, take a breath, and find one of these three pieces and start implementing it today. What one stood out most to you? If you’re unsure where to begin, I’d start with #1 because it works fassst. Stay consistent with that one piece (1-2 weeks at least), notice how your body is responding (awareness is key for sustainable change), then add the next step.

Like always, there is often more to the picture of our health, and we must look at the whole picture, not one symptom in isolation. If you want to find exactly what your body needs, learn how to work with your body to heal in the free training or book your personal assessment today.
