Water Filters - Throw away your Brita and invest in one of these instead
When you’re looking to get your health back on track, a good-quality water filter is a MUST. There are ample amounts of toxins in tap water that the filtration plants can’t filter out, including birth control, endocrine disruptors, chemotherapy, heavy metals, alongside what you likely already know, Chlorine and Fluoride.
When you don’t filter your water, your body becomes the filter
^ meaning the toxin load on your liver and kidneys goes up! You think you’re doing a good thing by hydrating your body, but your organs now have the extra burden of filtering all those toxins and removing them from you. (In a world where we have an abundance of toxic overload from our care and cleaning products to air pollution, your body doesn’t need this extra stress.)
Why a Brita Isn’t Really a “Water Filter”
Brita pitchers are often marketed as filters, but in actuality, they are deodorizers. Meaning they reduce unpleasant tastes and odours like chlorine, but they don’t remove any contaminants; they just make the water taste better. With a Brita, your body still has to filter all the toxins.
A Note on Refrigerator Water Filters
Many fridges come with their built-in water filter; these, while better than a Brita, still aren’t filtering the water. They reduce chlorine and remove some sediments, but don’t remove toxins. They are also only effective if you change the filter every 6 months (and let’s be honest, who does that regularly?!?)
If there is one thing to do for your health today, it’s this: Ditch your Brita and invest in a real water filter

5. Reverse Osmosis with Remineralization (Under-Sink System)
Price: Typically starts at $300+++, depending on features and installation
What It Filters/Does: Effectively strips most dissolved solids—including salts, fluoride, heavy metals, chlorine, pharmaceuticals, and more. Remineralization adds healthy minerals back into the water, but not all systems will remineralize.
Link: Look for a retailer offering RO systems with remineralization cartridges in your area or purchase one online (Amazon sells some, but verify before you buy) to install yourself.
Benefits of Investing in a High Quality Water Filter
